SEC Suspends Trading in Securities of 39 Companies

The Securities and Exchange Commission continues to clear the regulatory deck of public companies that are delinquent in making public filings.  On September 7, 2005, the SEC issued its largest order of suspension ever, announcing that trading had been suspended temporarily in the securities of 39 public companies.  The suspension, which began at 9:30 am on September 7, will conclude at 11:59 pm on September 20, 2005.

The SEC's order suspended trading for 10 days in the following companies:

Advanced Media, Inc. (AVMJ)
Air Packaging Technologies, Inc. (AIRP)
American Film Technologies, Inc. (AFTC)
American Plastics & Chemicals, Inc. (APLC)
AmeriQuest Technologies, Inc. (AMQT)
Apparel Technologies, Inc. (APTX)
BPI Packaging Technologies, Inc. (BPIE)
Chantal Pharmaceutical Corp. (CHTL)
CML Group, Inc. (CMLK)
Compositech, Ltd. (CTEK)
Crown Laboratories, Inc. (CLWB)
DBS Industries, Inc. (DBSS)
Dental Medical Diagnostic Systems, Inc. (DMDS)
Dispatch Management Services Corp. (DMSC)
Eglobe, Inc. (EGLOQ)
Enamelon, Inc. (ENML)
Finantra Capital, Inc. (FANT)
First Scientific, Inc. (FSFI)
Hayes Corp. (HAYEQ)

In each instance, the SEC cited the failure of the public company to file required periodic reports as the reason for ordering trading suspended.  A brief review reveals that each of these issuers was chronically delinquent in those filing obligations;

The SEC also has filed three separate administrative proceedings against sixteen of these companies seeking to revoke, or suspend for up to twelve months, the registration of their securities, based upon the delinquencies.  The following issuers were named in the administrative actions: Advanced Media, Inc., American Film Technologies, Inc., AmeriQuest Technologies, Inc., BPI Packaging Technologies, Inc., CML Group, Inc., Compositech, Ltd., Dispatch Management Services Corp., Eglobe, Inc., Enamelon, Inc., Paracelsian, Inc., Semiconductor Laser International Corp., Socrates Technologies Corp., Star Technologies, Inc., Telemonde, Inc., VDC Communications, Inc., and Transmedia Asia Pacific, Inc.  Each of these companies is quoted on the Pink Sheets.
